Who Is Eligible?
Our flight training financing program is designed for students pursuing a professional aviation career. To be eligible, students must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Hold a 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate
- Be pursuing a career pilot path that includes, at minimum, a Commercial Pilot Certificate
Students may apply for financing whether they are beginning their professional pilot training or have already completed some of their training. For example, financing may be available to students who have already earned their Private Pilot Certificate or Instrument Rating and are continuing toward their Commercial Pilot Certificate and subsequent professional ratings and certificates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for flight training financing?
To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years old, be a U.S. citizen, hold a 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate, and be pursuing a career pilot path that includes, at minimum, a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
Can I finance my Private Pilot Certificate?
Yes. Students who are beginning their professional pilot training may be eligible to finance their Private Pilot Certificate as part of a career pilot training path. The overall training plan must include at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
I already have my Private Pilot Certificate. Can I still apply?
Yes. Students who have already earned their Private Pilot Certificate may be eligible for financing to continue their training toward an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, and subsequent professional ratings and certificates.
I already have my Instrument Rating. Can I still apply?
Yes. Financing may be available to eligible students who have already completed their Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating and are continuing toward their Commercial Pilot Certificate and professional pilot career.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Yes. Students must hold a 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate to be eligible for financing.
Is everyone approved?
No. Meeting the basic eligibility requirements does not guarantee approval. All financing applications are subject to Edly’s eligibility and underwriting requirements.
Does Coastal Skies Aero Club make the financing decisions?
No. Financing decisions are made by Edly. Coastal Skies Aero Club can help students understand the financing process and determine how financing may fit into their flight training plan.
What if I have already started my flight training?
You may still be eligible. Students who have already completed some of their flight training—including their Private Pilot Certificate or Instrument Rating—may be able to finance the remaining training needed to reach their professional pilot goals, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
